Capitol Mosaic is a interactive platform set on a 30-ft wall in which gallery participants will navigate an archive of images and memes rendered into two mosaics of the US Capitol Building. The “day” version is a set of Parler social media and the “night” version is a set of Twitter data from Jan 6, 2021.
Taking from the virtual and bringing back into the material, Birds, Cairo Glitch, and Tapestry (2015) are glitch dye sublimation on aluminum will be mounted outside the gallery at the entrance.
Immersive projection mapping surrounds the gallery’s three walls using a 3D glitch aesthetic. These are the walls around which participants experience the holograms which allow one to experience the Capital Riots of DC through audible and spatial experiences that simulate of the events.
